Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Basil ricotta dumplings & creamy peas

    • ecasey830 on March 26, 2020

The flavors were good but the dumplings fell apart when cooking.

  • Irish pork roast with carrots & parsnips

    • mharriman on February 26, 2020

This was okay but nothing more. It truly felt like eating in an Irish pub where food can sometimes be best described as wholesome, hearty, and pretty bland. We didn’t think the heated and reduced hard cider added any flavor to the pork roast. It did add some moisture. I couldn’t find the recommended Ploughman’s chutney as a serving side, and we don’t care for applesauce, so I used Major Grey’s Chutney, which I always have on hand, and it added a lot to the flavor when spooned over the pork. The roasted vegetables went well as an accompaniment and were enhanced by the honey added at the end of roasting. In sum, this wasn’t tasty enough to repeat.
