Make the poutine. Trust. I have also made the mushroom gravy from the poutine recipe and then made Salisbury "steak" with Boca burgers and extra onions. Delicious.

Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Lentil shepherd’s pie

    • christineakiyoshi on January 03, 2022

This is a great recipe. I used black lentils and maitake mushrooms and instead of non dairy cream, used vegan butter in the potatoes. Did not add the water when combining the cooked veggies and lentils and it turned out fine. Will make this again. Hearty and delicious.

Good flavor, I might reduce the nutritional yeast a tad in the potatoes. Everyone liked this except E.

  • “Butter” tofu

    • christineakiyoshi on November 04, 2021

This recipe is easy and delicious--will make again! The sauce is thick, you could always thin with some water. 5 stars

      More like 3.5

  • Eggplant green curry

    • debkellie on August 25, 2023

Used my own Thai green curry paste; very flavoursome curry. Actually makes enough to serve 4, even using a 300g aubergine (home grown & off the vine same day!!).

  • Cinnamon buns

    • katskitchen on September 14, 2024

These were insanely good, I made them when our vegan friend came over and would definitely make them again!

100 simply delicious vegan recipes--good for the planet, and for you--from the chef and blogger behind The Buddhist Chef.

A practicing Buddhist for over two decades, Jean-Philippe Cyr, aka The Buddhist Chef, believes that everyone has the power to make their vision of the world a reality--and that the most impactful way to do that is through the food we choose to make, eat, and share. This realization led him to veganism, which transformed his life and health. In this cookbook, he shares how to make classic dishes vegan, easy, and so delicious and show-stopping that everyone--even the pickiest of eaters--will love them.
