      4 stars. OK so the flavor of these are wonderful. The chives really shine through and contrast nicely with the bacon. This biscuit will be more dense and nutty due to it being made up of mostly whole wheat flour. Recipe not written for a biscuit novice (I needed to Google and YouTube what this dough looks and feels like). Don't know how this yields 4 dozen... I got a little over 2 dozen. We ate a dozen in one sitting. Will continue to attempt.

      We enjoyed these but felt it needed a touch more salt- maybe it depends on your herb mix?, just personal taste. I would like to make these again with different herbs. I liked that they were crunchy but not tooth cracking.

      The best coffee cake! Nothing like the bland and overly dense examples seen in some cafes. Greek yogurt works well as a sour cream substitute.

      After reading comments on KAF website, I decided to divide the batter between 8 inch and 6 inch round pans. The height of the cake was better. I might make it in just 6 in pans next time as I prefer a higher ratio of cake to topping. If your prepared pie filling is soupy it is worthwhile to add dried cherries.

      Very easy to roll out, especially when chilled. Nutmeg is a nice variation on standard cookies, works nicely with a fiori di sicilia glaze.
