Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Rutabaga, celery root, and potato gratin

    • katenolan on November 16, 2020

Enjoyed this one. Halved the recipe, but kept the same amount of parmesan. Rutabaga was still a bit crunchy for our taste. I used a mandoline so all veg was the same thickness - just needed a little more "cook". So will give it a head start next time and I won't forget to add the salt and pepper next time either! • Roasted Brussels sprouts and onions with mushroom lardons

    • msl521 on December 01, 2024

Thanksgiving 2024: I didn't have pearl onions, but used all small, extra sweet farmer's market shallots. The sprouts and alliums worked well together, but the mushrooms were kind of lost in the stronger flavors. I may have cut the mushrooms too small since they tasted really good on their own.

  • Green bean casserole with almost-burnt almonds

    • eroachTN on November 30, 2020

      Added mushrooms. Everyone loved it!
