  • Pork stroganoff

      I made this with lean pork chops instead of fillet. Overall, it was a nice dish but not terribly special. I think adding some dried mushrooms and their soaking liquid would have added more depth of flavour.

  • Easy venison pie

      Quite flavorful for a fairly simple recipe. Salt and pepper aren't mentioned; I added a good amount of pepper, but only a little salt was needed. I stirred in some peas for extra veg and color. The filling was too liquidy, so I used a slotted spoon to scoop the stew into the pie dish, leaving some liquid behind. My crust took an extra 5 min to brown in the center (which always seems to take so much longer than the edges). Would make again, but with less water and/or more flour.

  • Pesto chicken lasagne

      Nice recipe, a twist on the usual lasagna. I think I'd maybe up the ratio of pesto and decrease the ratio of white sauce next time, and adding spinach might be nice.

  • Leek risotto

      I left out the celery since my partner doesn't like it. This was a nice dish, and I especially enjoyed the crispy leek on the top for decoration/aesthetics if nothing else. But otherwise, probably more of a side than a main dish IMO.
