Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Rigatoni alla zozzona

    • Logan92995 on February 17, 2024

Superb pasta dish. Super easy to make, flavorful, a little bit spicy, and makes a lot of food. Would make again!

  • Short rib and winter squash tagine

    • Acarroll on October 27, 2023

This was fine. I used the pressure cooker and the meat was a bit dry. Would have been better with bread and yogurt.

  • Baked white beans and sausages with paprika, onions and sweet peppers

    • Shewi128 on October 23, 2023

This was easy and turned out fairly well. However, the sausages ended up kinda over-crispy on top. So, be sure to check for that. I did like the flavor.

  • Chicken Kyiv

    • sarahawker on September 11, 2023

This takes quite a bit of time. It's easy but you have got to plan in the freezing steps. Delicious even though I substituted about 1/3 quantity of dried dill for the fresh.

  • Capellini with smoked paprika and olives

    • Kinhawaii on January 17, 2026

I liked the way the pasta cooked but I wasn’t a fan of it with the paprika so I’m not rating it because I think it’s a personal preference. We used fresh Roma tomatoes & they finished cooking at the same time but we did simmer them for several minutes before adding the pasta & water. The pasta did not get mushy.

  • Cheese-crisped pinto bean quesadillas

    • Shewi128 on September 22, 2023

I am loving these easy weeknight meals that Milk Street keeps releasing. Sometimes you just need something simple in the middle of the week. The quesadilla with cheese on the outside is an interesting concept that all of us liked. I didn't love the 1 TB of chili powder (maybe my chili powder isn't good?), so I'd decrease that slightly. I used a combo of mozzarella & cheddar cheese, and I used the small can of roasted green chiles. I'd make this again.
