Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Roasted stuffed zucchini with feta, dill, and cracked wheat

    • billcranecos on July 20, 2021

The currants (I used raisins) add a nice pop of color and should not be optional. Delicious.

  • Spaghetti with burst baby tomatoes and chili

    • stepharama1 on December 29, 2021

This turned out even yummier than expected. I added some lemon zest to the sauce.

  • Penne with broccoli rabe and walnuts

    • stepharama1 on January 03, 2022

I made this with tender stem broccoli and increased lemon zest to compensate. It was fast (even though I doubled the recipe), fresh and delicious.

  • Japanese ground turkey curry with apples and spinach

    • JimCampbell on February 24, 2026

A 3.0 out of 5. This is one of our go-to recipes for something different which is quick to throw together. It uses powdered curry. We use Madras Curry Powder. The cookbook recipes are sized for one person, so we increase the ingredient measurements to accommodate a pound of ground turkey. We grate the garlic and ginger, and tend to be a bit more generous with both. We're also overly generous with the spinach, or Swiss chard, whichever we have on-hand. We serve it over long grain white rice. A comforting meal which does not take a whole lot of effort. It's on the every 3-4 month cycle.
