      Really delicious new to me spin on classic bbq sauce. Especially good on grilled chicken or the fried chicken from the book.

      This was incredible. Seemingly simple dish but is totally more than the sum of its parts. Very surprised but have to say that it’s my favorite dish from the book thus far.

      Fairly easy bake but always a little hesitant to bake a recipe when the author doesn’t give weights for the dry ingredients. But alas strawberries are in season here and a lot of the other recipes involve fruit that is not yet in season. I haven’t dug in yet as I made this for a gathering later this afternoon so will update the note once I’ve tasted it. The pan 9in seemed a touch small as the cake really does get quite large. I will also say the sprinkle of 2 tbs of sugar with the sumac after the cake is baked is excessive and could be easily scaled down to 1 tbs. Also I had to bake closer to 50 min so the center would cook although seems like the edges around the cake are rather well done.
