Stuffed cabbage soup p. 202- I thought this was a great idea and it made a really tasty soup. Very satisfying with minimal effort.

Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Moroccan beef tagine with jeweled couscous

    • Captaincanada on March 28, 2026

Recipe calls for lamb shoulder not beef

  • Phyllo cheese pie (Turkish cheese borek)

    • rebeka_eveksv on January 28, 2026

Super tasty! Will definitely make it again, I didn't add the onion as I thought it might not get soft enough but maybe next time I'll try to add it.

  • Deconstructed Turkish manti

    • rebeka_eveksv on April 27, 2026

Used some leftover minced meat that was prepped for pastitsio. I think it made the flavour combination even better because the cinnamon in minced meat really complimented the mint in yoghurt sauce.

  • One-pot shrimp and rice

    • tarae1204 on February 10, 2026

Not the easiest of "quick weeknight family meals" in prep as it entails measuring out about eight different spices and sauteeing shrimp in 2-3 batches. But once the prep is done, the rest is easy and standard, and the rice, peas, and shrimp were beautifully spiced. The dish was enjoyed by the whole family. We found it a little light on salt and even acid (lemon juice), so when I make this again, I will try adding a little more of those elements.
