  As a serious cook, I was suspicious of this book at first, thinking its photographic beauty was probably its main asset. However, Beyond Parsley has become my number one go-to cookbook when I want to impress guests. I have made a great number of the dishes over the years and NEVER had a flop. This is astounding to me! Not only were the recipes accurate and dependable, the dishes were some of the best food I've served. I don't like to repeat recipes, but there are several in this book that demand to be made over and over, including the Savory Cheesecake, Carrot Cake, Pea Pod Salad, and Cornish Game Hens.

  Another vote from a local. I have used this beautiful cookbook for many years, first printed in 1982 and remains a staple in my library. Above and Beyond Parsley contains many beautiful food photos. It's high time for a sequel.

  It's nice to see a fine cookbook from my hometown indexed on EYB! There are lots of good recipes in this beautifully illustrated book. As you'll be able to see, there's much more on Kansas City's tables than barbecue! If you like this book, you'll also like the sequel, Above and Beyond Parsley!

    I use Challah bread and substitute 1/2 brown sugar for some of the plain sugar. I had to turn the heat up the 375° for a few mins at the end and really watch but it's a great recipe.
