Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Buttermilk coleslaw

    • ellencooks on March 22, 2017

I added extra buttermilk. Might cut back on the salt a bit next time. But it got rave reviews and leftovers were good at lunch.

  • Spicy zucchini-pineapple bread

    • ellencooks on August 23, 2022

This was really good BUT.... the batter totally fills a regular loaf pan. Luckily I put a pan underneath to catch the spillover. It also took way longer to bake, almost another 30 minutes. But the flavor was excellent!

  • Grandmother Paul's red velvet cake

    • Sparkles75 on May 04, 2022

Made this a few years ago. It got rave reviews but it was the first and only time I’ve made red velvet cake so don’t have anything to compare it with. It’s in my keeper recipes though so it must have been very good!
