      Excellent, and easy to do. Much lighter than traditional hummus, tangy lemon comes through. Keeps very well so you can make it early in the week for your party.

      I have made this almost every year for our Christmas gathering, and it disappears quickly, even two batches. Different from the usual dips and spreads offered at parties. Yummy, and keeps well, so you can make it several days ahead.

  • Marinated chèvre with black olives

      I love this chèvre, although I have never added the olives. No idea why, I just haven't. Very popular dish at our Christmas gathering. It develops flavour over a few days, and is heavenly at room temperature. Oil is delicious to mop up with a chunk of bread.

  • Chicken liver pâté with peppercorns

      Yummy. I make it in an 8" square pan, which gives a nice serving of pâté and jelly top with black pepper when scooped out, but I have yet to find a way to take a large piece out for serving. So I leave it in the pan. Easy and sophisticated, if I could get it out of the pan easily!
