Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Shredded Brussels sprouts salad

    • Myrf on November 27, 2013

Love this, quick, easy and fresh and great for fall when the kale and brussel sprouts are at the farmers market. Took it to a family dinner and was a big hit with everyone, even a 1 year old. yum

  • Citrus-roasted salmon with spring pea sauce

    • Barb_N on November 24, 2020

I followed the instructions for the fish but strayed a bit with the peas. I subbed arugula for watercress and added grated horseradish - just a hint so it didn’t overpower the citrus. Served with farro.

  • Miso salmon with cilantro sauce

    • inflytur on December 23, 2018

I will add this to my regular rotation. I left it in the marinade 24 hours and that was a bit too much, although it was delicious even if the flavor had become a somewhat overwhelming.

  • Paprika shrimp with walnuts

    • kikiholiday on February 24, 2021

Replaced half the turnip with diced sweet potato, roasted in oven before adding to shrimp. Much better this way! Pretty sure it qualifies as low FODMAP.

  • Stuffed poblanos in chipotle sauce

    • julesamomof2 on May 02, 2019

These were great. The recipe as is makes enough filling for easily 2 more poblanos. Could skip the goat cheese for a dairy free entrée.

  • Sesame spinach

    • inflytur on March 27, 2020

A lovely side dish. The dressing could use a bit more umph.

  • Miso salmon with cilantro sauce

    • Lisa Is Cooking

The cilantro sauce was a bright-tasting and lively match to the miso and sesame on the salmon. And, the miso marinade coated the salmon well to give each bite sweet-savory flavor and color...

  • Chicken and mango salad

    • Lisa Is Cooking

The simple, few ingredients in the salad were just enough since there was so much flavor in the dressing. I was delighted with this dressing and its texture, and I started imagining other uses for it.

  • Stuffed poblanos in chipotle sauce

    • Lisa Is Cooking

The lightness of the dish was nothing like what a stuffed pepper usually is, and that made it even better.

  • Spring barley risotto

    • Lisa Is Cooking

...a light dish with no butter and just a half cup of grated cheese, but chewy, nutritious barley rounds it out and makes it filling. The spring vegetables shine, and the mint points up their flavors.
