Lots of flavor. Egg helped to bind it very well without weighing it down, especially when compared to vegan burgers.
This recipe is nice and simple if you can persevere with the griddling. And I cut the courgettes at an angle, different from the photo, so I had long lengths & less courgettes to griddle.
I added an extra tablespoon of Pimm's into the jam, but as per the reviews on the BBC website you can't taste the Pimm's. And because the Pimm's is added after the jam has set, the more you add the more runny the jam becomes. However, there is a certain smoothness and warmth to the taste, you can taste the difference when you do a taste test with ordinary strawberry jam. It's nice!
This is a good, easy, filling everyday baked pasta recipe. Really quite tasty, especially livened up with hot sauce as I do. The first time I made it I had to add quite a bit of the pasta cooking water to keep it moist; the second time I added another cup of milk. The second time I also used quite a bit more ham and more mushrooms than specified, which I believe was an improvement.
