    very good. different from other "lentil soups" - the black lentils (or french green called for in the recipe) make the difference and provide a very nice textured soup. bacon adds just the right smokiness. the "variations" are to switch sherry or port for the dry white wine. I used sherry and black lentils.

    A good tasty lentil soup, made with ingredients I usually have on hand. Good for unexpected guests.
