A variation on "Sumac soup" recipe on same page. Part of the suggested Winter Menus on P615. Use vegetarian broth or water for a completely vegetarian recipe. Can substitute sumac powder for sumac berries; dried herbs for fresh; sugar for grape molasses, ground almonds for ground pistachios, and sugar for grape molasses.
