    This is the perfect dessert to serve to guests -- it's very easy to prepare and can be done ahead of time and then baked while you're eating dinner. I've served it numerous times and people who don't normally eat dessert will go back for seconds! I tend to bake it a bit longer than the recipe calls for as I feel the pears are still a little too under-cooked when baked only 45 minutes.
