Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

    This is almost everything that I'd look for in a Christmas butter cookie. They're buttery and crunchy without being dry. They're sweet without being too sweet. I didn't use salted butter; I just added salt to the recipe. Instead of a vanilla bean, I used an equivalent amount of vanilla paste.
