    This was a real hit at a dinner party I made tonight for a friend who had brought me the saffron for this dish from Iran. I used vanilla macadamia milk and added a whole Mexican fresh vanilla pod that I seeded and added the whole pod as well to my zavour multipot. We had great dried cherries from zingermans and used whole amaranth as directed. I used whole grain brown short sticky rice from a local farmer, Since I use unsweetened milk I added some Japanese Okinawan sugar to the rice with the milk and then sweetened with dark maple syrup. I doubled the cherries adding ? to the rice and ? for serving with the roasted pistachios. It was super.
