Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

    A good soup with strong flavors (unfortunately too strong for the kids). The 20 mins simmering is not really needed for the softening of the lentils but mainly for the mellowing of the lemon, which stays bitter if not cooked enough. I like to increase the amount of cumin a lot.
