    I should have known better and reduced the amount of sugar. It's too sweet as is. Next time 1 T sugar to start. Otherwise, it is a simple recipe and other than the sweetness, it is very satisfying with more bland sides such as white rice, macaroni salad, much like plate lunches in Hawaii. I used pork shoulder cut into 2 inch cubes and these came out tender. Reminds me of adobo.
