Roasted tomato-chile de árbol salsa from Dos Caminos Mexican Street Food: 120 Authentic Recipes to Make at Home (page 167) by Ivy Stark and Joanna Pruess

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

This salsa is intended to be used with the Mexican hot dog recipe. I used sweet grape tomatoes rather than the currently available tasteless plum tomatoes. I did roast/blacken all the ingredients but I did not put them all under the broiler at the same time. I gave the onion a head start and added the grape tomatoes last. Yes, trust the recipe - it is not necessary to peel the chiles. The hint of a char in the salsa went well with the smoked bacon of the Mexican hot dog - making this a very successfully hot dog salsa. Next up, using it with a bacon burger.
