Black sesame Neapolitan sugar cookies from Modern Asian Baking at Home: Essential Sweet and Savory Recipes for Milk Bread, Mooncakes, Mochi, and More; Inspired by the Subtle Asian Baking Community (page 56) by Kat Lieu

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

A lot of work, but resulted in good cookies. The predominant flavor is black sesame, and we tasted a little hint of matcha. Added some ube extract for color. Might be easier in the future to just use this as a base for black sesame sugar cookies.

These were fun to make, but definitely a project! Black sesame is the most prominent flavour, I didn’t really catch much of the matcha or ube. Also added a touch of ube extract to get a more vibrant purple. Not sure I would go to the trouble of making these again, but I’m glad I tried them!
