Smothered pork chops with cider and apples from Steaks, Chops, Roasts and Ribs / Best Meat Recipes: All You Really Need To Know About Meat by Cook's Illustrated Magazine

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Tasty, for a spur of the moment dinner. I didn't have any cider but some orange juice that needed to be used up so I used that instead. It gave it a sour-sweet taste to the sauce, which was nice. Apples and pork go well together, and this recipe is no exception.

Very good. The sauce was quite intense and can do without the help of the bacon bits.
