Extra-bitter hot fudge sauce from Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams at Home: More Than 100 Addictively Good Artisanal Recipes (page 201) by Jeni Britton Bauer

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

This came out a bit thinner than I was expecting, but as promised it is smooth with a very rich, bitter chocolate flavor.

I'm sure I messed this up because I only had dark cocoa powder and was a little shy of unsweetened chocolate, so I used some 100% dark chocolate that probably wasn't intended for melting, so it was a little gritty. So, I can't really comment on how this is as a fudge sauce because I clearly didn't follow the recipe. However, this has turned out to be EXCELLENT to have on hand for chocolate milk. Spoonful of sauce + stir into milk (dairy or otherwise) = chocolate milk! I imagine if you actually follow the recipe (and not in my footsteps), it'd probably be both a great fudge sauce and a great chocolate milk sauce.
