English muffin toasting bread from King Arthur Flour

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

I've made other English muffin breads before and this is my favorite recipe so far - it's never going to be quite like English muffins, but this had really nice texture and flavor when toasted. We used it for breakfast sandwiches. It was relatively quick (for a yeast bread) and really easy to make. Due to poor planning, I had to let the shaped loaf rise a little too long, so I put it in the fridge for 30 min (but it continued to rise); nevertheless, it baked up just fine.

I also thought this was just okay. Like a lot of enriched breads, I don't think it actually toasts well at all. Burns too easily in dry heat. Might make good french toast but I am not sure if it is sturdy enough. Feels like it might fall apart if you dipped it in milk.

It was just okay. I'm saving the recipe as I may try it again. I think I like regular English muffins better.

This recipe is very easy and dependable. It makes a moist, chewy loaf that is perfect for toast or sandwiches. It doesn’t have the strong sour taste of the “name brand” commercial English muffin but it is there, slightly.
