    This was surprisingly unexciting. There's no vanilla extract in the cake, but that seems to be traditional so I followed recipe. Texture is a little odd, sort of cornmeal-ish. Cream is whipped without any sugar. Ends up tasting like a large, bit bland scone. We weren't expecting a super sweet American cake, but were still disappointed. Will not make again.

    Not really a sponge mix but an "all in one" cake batter. Taste and crumb were okay though.
