Smacked cucumber with sesame and preserved mustard greens from Every Grain of Rice: Simple Chinese Home Cooking (page 34) by Fuchsia Dunlop

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

I really liked this for a change. A different version of the usual smacked cucumbers. The sesame was lovely

This was my favorite variation of this recipe. The preserved mustard provides a nice flavor.

Very good, savory crunchy side. Needs to be doubled, IMO, as the yield is tiny. Made this and the regular version. The lack of spice on this one was a welcome addition to a potluck for the small people.

    Very delicious salad/side dish
