    We both thought there was too much spice, but enjoyed the molasses-brown sugar flavors and the texture. Sweet enough with ½ cup brown sugar. Used 1 cup each whole wheat pastry flour and regular whole wheat, and added about ? cup raw, coarsely-chopped cranberries to the batter. The flavor of the pumpkin seeds was too mild; try walnuts or pecans.

    These were very good, especially considering that it's a healthy recipe. I actually thought they tasted like a gingerbread pumpkin muffin with the molasses, but that's not a bad thing. the muffin cups were filled almost to the top due to the amount of batter but the muffins rose very nicely and didn't spill out over the sides. Will definitely make these again!
