Give them some time to work the bugs out....geez!

Yes, that's correct Jane.

It would be helpful if the stars for the ratings went back to being yellow. Hard to distinguish between the green and the grey.

Cati - could you please send a screenshot to [email protected] of how the stars look for you? On every device I've looked at the green stars stand out from the background but it would be good to see what you are seeing.

Have sent the screen shot of the current with one of the old for comparison. Thanks.

I love that photos are now available for some recipes.  I'm a very visual person and even after reading the ingredients for a recipe, I can make a decision much more easily if I can see the result.  Great idea!  I also love that some recipes now have page numbers listed in their respective books.  Saves a lot of time thumbing through the book index! Keep it coming!

I appreciate your work to make this site as useful as possible. Some bugs to work out, but you've opened the floor to hearing them and have been responsive. Thanks.

EYB is a valuable resource, love it.

Issues I've experienced:

iPad Mini 3: Home Page is garbled in landscape screen position. Fine in portrait screen position. I use landscape position for device stability.

iPhone 6: Home Page is garbled in portrait screen position. Fine in landscape screen position.

I agree with Rinshin, showing the user's star rating with its corresponding note would be useful. I also agree the tabs for giveaways/cookbooks/event are too large, but I could learn to live with it.

Please consider changing green rating stars back to yellow for efficiency. Green stars blend in with the page and with unmarked gray stars and are challenging to see. The yellow stars were efficient because they stood out and helped a user quickly "calculate" the rating (poor, good, great), which helped save time when sifting through lots of info. Plus, and it's a biggie, if there is only 1 green star or .5 of a green star, it's barely viewable as it blends in with the gray stars.

Note: I've used the new EYB on a Mac desktop (no issues) and Dell laptop (Home Page garbled but I'm sure it will be fixed).

Great improvement for indexers who use their ipad for that job. The lists of ingredients is now very stable and doesn't disappear just before you reached the item you wanted to select.

manycookbooks -  Page numbers are being added to all new books - and we're going back through older books to add them. Members are welcome to volunteer to help out!

Merry24 - can you send a screen shot to [email protected] of the Home page on your Dell - the layout should be reconfiguring to adjust to any screen size. Could you also send images of the garbled screens you're seeing on your iPhone and iPad - I have the same hardware and not seeing it. Could you confirm what version OS you're using? I think I'm going to have to back down on the green stars - Jane wanted to keep the yellow!

Lee - thanks, it doesn't matter how much testing you do, it's not until it goes out to the 1000s and we discover all the ways members use the site that we can get it right.

Cati - great to hear that the indexing page is working better for you.

It looks beautiful on a full-size computer, but on the stock Android browser it's a mess, The central image changes so frequently it's a distraction, and the popup (or whatever covers the whole screen) can't be scrolled and makes the site unusable. Chrome for Android is not much better. Please give me back the old EYB - at least I could use it.

I am writing this in an Internet café - using my Samsung Galazy S4 is a hopeless proposition.

Fiona, the new filters are absolutely a hit with me.

bittrette - the pop-up is a one-time tutorial about the new features that only appears the first time you use the site after the launch. I'm sorry to hear that it doesn't work on your phone. We did a lot of testing but it seems none of our testers had your model of Android phone (and also some models of Blackberry) that have had this problem of the pop-up blocking the screen. The good news is that it won't appear again because you saw it once.

When bookmarking using ipad I find that every time you save the bookmark the page does not remain in place but jumps back up to the top of the page again. So if you want to check that your bookmark is on the right recipe or you want to continue bookmarking the next recipe, you have to scroll all the way down again. Has anyone else noticed this?

I haven't found that to be true -- it pops up every time I access the site, whether on my ipad or my desktop.

Love it on my mobile Samsung Galaxy S3.
Not so much on my iPad mini with iOS 9.3.1, can't zoom.
Have yet to try it on my Dell laptop.

JoBills - have you tried adding the icon to your home screen? This is explained here. I'm also adding a Help section explaining how to do it. Then when you click the icon you are automatically signed in. I saved the Home Page but you can save whichever page you use most (just make sure you are signed in when you do it). Then EYB is one click away and you don't need to sign in.

This doen't work for me: I need to sign in each time - iPad 4th gen with the latest iOS. I tried the trick with the home page and the recipe page.

Other than that: really nice new look, but seems marginally slower to load either on desktop or on iPad.

But the home page button works great on my Galaxy S6, signed-in and all!

Cati - I have logged that issue with Bookmarks causing the recipe list to scroll up as a bug with our developer.

Laura - that is strange. I can see on the tutorial system that you have seen the tutorial which means it should not come up again. When you next see it pop up on your desktop, follow the tutorial through (it only takes a minute or two) then click End. It definitely should not then reappear but if it does then let us know. Has anyone else had this issue that the new features tutorial pops up repeatedly?

chawkins - we are working on reinstating zoom for tablets and phones.

Isasim - there are quite a lot of Forum topics online about this as it is a known problem with Safari. One thing to check is whether you have disabled cookies in your iPad. If you have then there is no way we can recognize you when you return. Also take a look at this Apple Support Forum which explains how to stop getting signed out on Safari. The Help section I mentioned re adding an EYB icon to your iPhone or iPad home screen (so EYB is one click away) is now up on Help.

So far, so good with the new site. I thought I would try everything I normally use it for before commenting. No problems with it on either my laptop or Samsung Galaxy Tab S, except not being able to enlarge things on the tablet, but everything seems to look big enough anyway so that's no real problem and everything seems a lot quicker.

I like the new features, all notes and reviews visible, recipe pictures and the layout of the book titles etc. I've tried some indexing and the new highlighting of the ingredients etc. is very helpful.

The Home page seems quite 'busy' but then everything you need is there without having to search for it.

I think all of us longtime users of the site need to give all of the changes a fair chance. I was recently involved in the complete makeover and rebranding of a charity so know there is a lot of hard work involved in any change that then takes time to settle down.

Thank-you Jane, Fiona and your developers for your hard work on this wonderful site and resource and your quick responses to everyone's comments and immediate issues.
