Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Cranberry swirl shortbread

    • jumali on November 30, 2013

I took the bottom layer out at just the first hint of color, and it ended up being slightly underdone in the end. The cranberry adds a fantastic flavor--especially the hint of cinnamon. Makes a very pretty cookie.

  • Chocolate blossoms

    • jumali on November 30, 2013

cookies shouldn't be this difficult! I scorched the first batch of butter and chocolate in only 2 minutes. The second batch melted in only 1 minute at 50% power. The mixture didn't firm up enough in the suggested 5 minutes. I had to refrigerate it for 30 minutes in order to work with it. This recipe yields a relatively small batch (23 cookies). Despite all this, they are infinitely better than the recipe on the back of the bag. Will definitely make this again.

  • Five-spice cookies

    • vglong29 on April 02, 2019

The five-spice and cream cheese are a great combination. These do not spread much during baking, would help to press down on each cookie before baking.

  • Chocolate-mint cookies

    • Analyze on March 28, 2019

These are SOOOOOOOO good! Very similar to a Thin Mint if you like that flavor, though I guess the texture is different - but very fresh!
