Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Grilled chile chicken with saffron potatoes

    • Kduncan on June 05, 2022

      The chicken here was very good, but the potatoes were pretty boring. Would make again with a different side.

  • Tostada chilaquiles

    • Rinshin on May 05, 2015

      tostada = toasted corn tortillas

  • Chicken-fried pork

    • chawkins on October 30, 2015

      Simple and quick with a crispy crust, but it just isn't chicken-fried without the gravy.

  • Spaghetti with bacon, capers, and mint

    • chezlarios on April 29, 2022

      Correct URL is https://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/spaghetti-bacon-capers-and-mint.

  • Easy Persian fried fish

    • nicolepellegrini on October 02, 2016

      Very good and VERY easy. Nice way to make a simple crisp-fried fish filet more interesting. The SO liked the spice mixture a lot as did I - I only cut the amount of cayenne pepper in half as he's not great with spicy foods. Still had a nice kick to it.

  • Ukranian pasta bake

    • thekitchenchronicles on November 16, 2015

      This is like old world mac 'n' cheese and it is beyond delicious. Perfect as written, comes out of the oven crispy and golden and you can't help but eat the crunchiest noodles from the corners while you wait for it to cool. I wrote it up on my blog for those interested: http://www.thekitchenchronicles.com/2015/11/16/ukrainian-pasta-bake/
