The recipes may be a little old fashioned but they are very well tested. I've yet to encounter a bad one in this book! I like the gazpacho (page 6), the Fettucine Ferrari (page 14), Sow See Guy (page 23), Salmon mousse (page 26), Chicken Breasts alla Margherita (page 35), Barbequed teriyaki steaks (page 45), Banana bread (page 85), Chocolate Macaroons (page 98), Chocolate cake with coffee frosting (Page 99) and the Walnut pie (very sweet - like pecan pie, Page 103.

The Kona Inn Banana Bread is an OLD standby. Still my favorite. Love, love, love this rendition. Freezes well. It is a very old fashioned, traditional take on this with sugar, butter, bananas. Yum.!!!

Very good and moist as promised. Also freezes well, as promised. Recipe does not call for vanilla which seemed odd and for a moment I even wondered if for some reason vanilla does not go with either bread or banana, dismissed that thought and splashed in a couple of teaspoons. All went well. Despite a well-buttered non-stick loaf pan, the bottom of the loaf stuck and broke away, so next time (and there will be a next time) I'll definitely line the bottom with parchment. Maybe even try some chocolate chips in another batch. Because, like vanilla, chocolate chips can only add :-)
