Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Quinoa breakfast bowls

    • southerncooker on March 30, 2022

I made one bowl. I used almond milk. Delicious.

  • Spicy marinara baked eggs

    • southerncooker on March 22, 2022

The recipe calls for 10 oz pot or ramekin. Mine are 8 oz but my eggs were small so they fit perfectly. Delicious. I used fresh basil instead of parsley for the garnish.

  • Avocado toast

    • southerncooker on March 20, 2022

Simple, quick, easy and delicious. I used sourdough bread, and everything bagel seasoning. Got my egg a cooked a little more that I prefer. It was till jammy though, so still a delicious breakfast.

  • One-pot garlic Parmesan pasta

    • AngelNewsi on October 09, 2016

Super easy and delicious. I would never guess that this wasn't made with heavy cream or cream cheese. I also made the All-Purpose Chicken from this book and stirred it into the pasta. Very garlicky, but my husband and I like that. Will be making again for sure.

  • Kimchi fried rice

    • kate_61kcta on May 21, 2026

This was absolutely delicious! Never tried making fried rice before, never had kimchi before. Directions easy to follow. Also added tofu to add some extra protein.

  • Beef and broccoli bowls

    • jenmacgregor18 on April 03, 2018

Great weeknight meal. Especially when you’re wanting take out. This is a keeper. B said she could eat this every other night.

    • nefret12 on March 29, 2019

This was amazing and so quick and easy!! A recipe I'll make again and again. It was so flavorful.

    • cardan on April 24, 2026

Quick, easy and really good. Nothing super creative but great for a weeknight meal.

  • Bulgogi Philly cheesesteaks

    • jenmacgregor18 on April 19, 2018

I didn't have provolone or rolls. I ended up using some gruyere I had and lightly toasted whole grain bread. It was still very good. I think it would be even better if I followed the recipe exactly. The ribeye was very flavorful from the marinade. I sliced and marinated the ribeye the night before. Pretty quick to put together the next night for dinner.

  • Cajun shrimp and grits

    • kiki_4i30mx on May 21, 2026

This is a favorite in our household and one we have made time and time again. This time I forgot cheddar cheese so I just added a slice of American cheese for creaminess and added more Parmesan to the grits and it turned out just fine. I also forgot my green onions, which I usually do love, but it was still delicious. It's really easy to make too, great for a weeknight.

  • Pan-seared salmon with lemon cream sauce

    • morleigh10 on March 27, 2024

Super quick and easy. My SO liked the honey butter that was cooked on with the salmon but was not crazy about the cream sauce, but I enjoyed it the most with the cream sauce!

  • Slow-cooker enchilada orzo

    • AngelNewsi on October 09, 2016

Big hit here! The flavors are spot on and it was one of the easiest recipes I've ever made. Will definitely be making again.

  • All-purpose chicken

    • AngelNewsi on October 09, 2016

Delicious! Very garlicky, which I like, but if you don't like that, reducing the garlic wouldn't be difficult and I don't think it would ruin the recipe.

  • Garlic butter shrimp in foil

    • jenmacgregor18 on March 03, 2020

Very easy & quick. I baked at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.

  • Lemon butter scallops

    • southerncooker on March 27, 2019

Got some great looking, big, frozen scallops for a good price at Aldi. This recipe was quick, easy and delicious.
