  • Maple-rosemary roasted almond mix

Pretty tasty, but mine came out kind of greasy-- not the best for a handheld snack.

  • Italian meatball burger

    • skvalentine on April 06, 2026

Pretty good! Would make again. I made the patties the day before and transported them in the cooler to cook the next day at our campsite. They were delicious, but a little strong on the onion/garlic-- I would reduce next time.

  • Zero-degree chili

Definitely not what I would typically view as a chili. I’m glad the author compared it to a goulash in the notes. I had to take a couple of liberties with this. As I have never achieved tender stew meat in 45 mins, I sautéed the onion and peppers and then added and browned the beef. I added the tomatoes, broth and bay leaves and simmered all of this for over a few hours. During that time I added a tsp of Urfa pepper, an additional tsp of smoked paprika and 1/2 tsp garlic powder. Once the meat was tender, I added the beans, potatoes and carrots. Didn’t used canned. Used previously cooked Rancho Gordo Christmas Limas. The flavors are fantastic, giving 3.5 stars because the recipe is problematic as written.

  • Apple harvest crisp

Not impressed with the topping. It was too dry using the cornflour. A more traditional oat topping would have been much better.

  • Golden milk

Sweetened it quite a bit more with maple syrup for preference.
