      Didn't have fresh coconut so skipped that step and added the full can of coconut milk. At the end added a bit of corn starch to thicken the sauce. We found this dish comforting and will make again.

      This tasted great! Not sure my execution of the recipe was that good as the mixture seemed very dry and my topping sank through it. However you can get away with a lot when no-one knows that bobotie is supposed to have a topping!

Feast is a Saturday magazine supplement to The Guardian newspaper; it includes food and drink features and recipes, and combines most of The Guardian's food writers under one cover. The magazine encompasses the articles and recipes that formerly appeared in the Weekend magazine, Cook, and in the Thursday G2 are now contained in Feast.
