      I couldn't get Swiss chard so when I halved the recipe I just left the chard out and used the full quantity of leek. Very nice, although there wasn't enough of the ricotta, creme fraiche and parmesan mixture to use it in every layer.

      I messed up - forgot to add the egg - but at the same time, forgetting the egg and using a bit less than the stated volume of water I had a pretty wet dough so I can't imagine how it would have worked if I had added the egg. But I presume leaving the egg out is why after 15 minutes I had a set but pale biscuit, not golden. The icing is good, very lemony, but it overpowers the unexpectedly subtle lemon cookie. So I don't know if it's me or the recipe but I won't be making them again to find out.
