Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Basic egg dough and Large-batch egg dough

    • Lepa on October 03, 2022

This recipe worked well and the dough was nice to work with.

  • Luxurious pomodoro in a flash

    • Lepa on October 17, 2022

This was decent but I like Alison Roman's version with onions and tomato paste much better so I doubt I will revisit this one.

  • Butter lettuce with celery, pistachio & pecorino Toscano

    • Lepa on October 17, 2022

This was just okay but it may deserve a do-over because I failed to marinate the celery and used raw, unsalted pistachios. That said, the dressing wasn't my favorite.

    • ozfoodie on May 08, 2023

I really liked this. The dressing 'makes' it. Different... but in a nice way! Used festival lettuce, which was the closest I could get to butter lettuce, and cheese that was labelled simply 'pecorino'. A nice touch to marinate the celery. It beautifully complemented the risotto bake I served it with.

    • Kmatazz on June 15, 2025

I found the dressing bland - dressed it up with a touch of balsamic and made a huge difference. Just needs something 'more'. Loved letting the celery soak a few, added some spring onions with it as well. The pecorino shavings were yummy!

  • Wicked white Bolognese

    • JuneHawk on February 16, 2024

This is delicious and quick for a bolognese.

  • Peppery pappardelle, pancetta & mushrooms

    • Lepa on October 03, 2022

This is tasty. The sauce is a bit thin and needs more salt but it tasted delicious on the homemade papparadelle.

  • Nectarine & cucumber salsa with burrata

    • lean1 on August 07, 2024

made this with garden cucumber and a friends nectarines, used a tiny red onion and chile powder instead of a thai chile. It's delicious. Lots of flavor. Will try it with peaches next time.

  • Chopped salad pasta

    • kshell on June 24, 2025

Did the version with arugula and used banana peppers instead of pepperoncini; a great pasta salad. Will make again.

    • lean1 on November 29, 2025

I made this with spring mix greens no meat products, canned tuna, Tuscan pecorino. Half the amount of beans pasta and dressing. Very nice flavors in the dressing. I liked this combination and will make again.

  • Cavatelli with sausage, peppers & oregano

    • gamulholland on May 25, 2024

This was rich and indulgent and delicious and went over well with the kids. Really good. Definitely need to repeat it.

  • All about arugula salad

    • Lepa on October 03, 2022

      Simple and delicious.

    • eclairea on April 28, 2026

Simple, delicious. Still prefer lemon juice as the acid, but a good quality balsamic is a great change.

  • Garganelli with vodka sauce

    • lindsey_5xsrit on March 08, 2026

Perfectly fine vodka sauce recipe - needed a bit of salt or some more flavor but nothing minor tweaking didn’t fix.

  • Creamy wild mushroom & potato gnocchi

    • Lepa on January 05, 2023

These gnocchi were less toothsome than others I have made. They almost fell apart in the mouth but not in a good way. Maybe they need more flour? The sauce was good but not as good as a Polish version of this dish (same but different!) I usually make.

  • Beef short rib pappardelle

    • katiesue28 on October 30, 2023

This was very good. I personally loved the addition of a dollop creme fraiche, though my husband preferred it without. The fresh oregano is a must!
