Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Lightly curried butternut squash soup

    • AnnF on November 23, 2022

Good, but not my style. I liked using coconut milk, though - will remember that.

  • Beet and chickpea salad

    • chezlarios on March 14, 2026

A satisfying way to use beets. It was more filling than expected and came together pretty quickly, since there was no need to cook the beets.

  • Spicy panzanella

    • chezlarios on August 24, 2024

Really, really tasty! Perfect for a warm day. I added some shallots and basil - excellent results.

  • Taco salad

    • chezlarios on April 27, 2025

Simple and easy to make. I've had better versions of "taco salad", but it's because they were more complex in ingredients and flavor profile, so this one is good in a pinch.

  • Jacket sweet potatoes

    • chezlarios on November 01, 2025

Easy and simple. I used plain yogurt in place of sour cream.

  • Creamy zucchini fettuccine

    • chezlarios on August 18, 2024

An excellent summer pasta. The ingredients look rather simple, but the red pepper flakes, garlic, basil, and lemon zest give it that burst of flavor. A big hit with the bf.

  • Tomato and tuna spaghetti

    • Dannausc on January 09, 2021

Quick and easy. I added anchovies and capers. Good. My wife liked it a lot.

  • Vegetable jambalaya

    • chezlarios on July 31, 2024

Really nice, great flavours. I used half a jalapeño as my "green chile" and basmati rice for my long grain rice. I also subbed Heinz Worcester sauce for the Worcestershire sauce, fresh oregano for the dried, and smoked paprika for the normal paprika. My bell pepper ended up spoiling so I skipped it altogether. I used some vegetarian soy protein stuff from the grocery store. Would definitely make this again, it all came together easily.

  • Chana masala

    • Willora on January 15, 2026

Very simple and easy recipe. Tasty. I've had better Chana masala, but for the level of effort, this is great.

  • Potato and kale rolls with raita

    • Dannausc on January 01, 2021

I used frozen greens from my garden (chard I think). It was quite easy and quite good. It had a nice kick to it. Definitely worth a repeat! I didn’t feel like making the roti so I just served it over rice which worked great.

  • Raita

    • Dannausc on January 01, 2021

I omitted the cucumber as I didn’t have any. I used a can of diced tomatoes. I added 1/2 t. of dried mint flakes. Super easy and good.

  • Roti

    • Sleeth on December 28, 2019

Easy to make with a food processor and dough hook, and used tortilla press instead of a rolling pin. Smaller size, about 5”, if you make 16. Tasted fine. I served it with a curry dish.

  • Pizza dough

    • stricklinhome on July 24, 2020

      Recipe makes two full-sized pizzas

  • Peach coffee cake

    • Dannausc on January 09, 2021

I used 1 Korean pear, 3 Granny Smith apples, and 1 c. Of cranberries in place of the peaches. Very good base recipe.

    • chezlarios on August 19, 2025

      Very delicious!

  • Brussels sprout hash and eggs

    • MichiganCooking on January 23, 2021

I use the shaved brussels sprouts from Trader Joe's. Yum -- even without olives, which I don't always have.

  • Korean-style spinach toast

    • NathanRJ on September 28, 2020

Basic but fine. Could use some extra kick
