  • Lentil soup with tarragon

    • locopomtini on December 30, 2024

Added twice the amount of cumin by accident and had to add lemon to compensate. It all turned out great. Needs extra broth. As my husband said, it was a happy accident. I liked the fennel! Will make again and follow the recipe.

  • Sticky orange tofu & broccoli

    • hbakke on December 07, 2024

We both enjoyed this simple dinner. The orange sauce was delicious combined with the tofu and broccoli. I would make this again.

We enjoyed this dish. A few tips: my broccoli florets were a little large - they didn't cook well with the lid off the skillet, so I cooked longer and with the lid on. Also, have a cube or two of vegetable stock handy (or additional water) for the broccoli and later for the sauce - the sauce thickened very quickly and needed the extra liquid. Assuming the author meant "toasted" sesame oil, I think sesame oil isn't meant for sauteing so I used grapeseed oil for the tofu, then used the specified 1 T. sesame oil for the broccoli. Mostly a pantry dish - used two heads of broccoli crowns, one block extra firm tofu. Made 2 generous servings, plus 1-2 small leftover servings.

  • Chicken gyros with tzatziki

  • Meatballs with fire-roasted marinara

    • gamulholland on April 20, 2025

This was weeknight-level simple and really good. I used ground turkey, and I used large cloves of garlic — so good. The sauce tastes like you’ve simmered it for hours, not like you have just whipped it up. Definitely making this again.

  • Truffle pasta with mixed mushrooms & goat cheese

    • locopomtini on February 11, 2025

Made exact recipe except gf pasta. Got the recommended TRUFF truffle oil. Excellent!

  • Spiced latte loaf

    • hbakke on December 07, 2024

I had such high hopes for this, but it was sadly inedible (despite being a good looking loaf). I ground my own cloves and cardamom and the resulting spiced parts of the loaf were mouth-numbing and unpleasant from the overload of spices. I think the author must have used older, less flavorful ground spices. Not a repeat for me.
