I have made the Pretzel Crispies several times and they have a dense texture so they might be better suited for being mixed with actual rice krispies. I also think the flavor could be enhanced because while the pretzel flavor comes through it's not as pronounced as I would like. I like the idea of these, but they need some amending.

It's Pi Day - I love all things Earl Grey and London fog, so I made the Earl Grey icebox pie... I followed the book's instructions against my better judgement and didn't sift out the tea leaves and instead blended them up. The photo clearly shows a lighter colored pie. I used the best premium ingredients I could (Valrhona white chocolate + Stash Capers Sunrise Earl Grey) pie itself is probably a bit more tannic due to the leaves.

You can feel Clark’s happiness radiating off of each page, in the recipes and in the photography. You might call Clark’s cooking California Cuisine and that would be truthful. I’d also call it soulful

Publishers Text

Coastal is a visual storybook of free-spirited Californian living, set against the surf, peaks, curving roads, and sunsets of the westernmost United States. This inspired collection of recipes, gorgeous photographs, and vivid stories takes us on a road trip beginning at Clark’s beloved sandwich-and-pie shop, Dad’s Luncheonette, in Half Moon Bay and ending in Ventura County. Along the way, it visits the fishermen, crabbers, farmers, winemakers, and foragers who stretch along the Pacific Coast Highway between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
