Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Tomato soup with cheesy butter beans

    • katmagdunn on May 12, 2026

This was really straight forward and a truly great tomato soup. The chilli kick is perfect and don’t skip the crispy butter beans

  • One-pan chickpea, roasted grape + caramelised carrot with baked feta

    • katmagdunn on March 05, 2026

This was delicious — both day of and the following day!!

  • Borlotti beans con le sarde

    • saladdays on February 06, 2026

Cooked this with chickpeas, the suggested alternative. It was delicious and will definitely be on my repeat list.à A

  • Cacio e pepe borlotti beans

    • Bessp on March 12, 2026

This ended up extremely salty, I'm not exactly sure why as I didn't add any extra. I made it with butter beans, because it's what I could find. I also added some crispy mild Italian sausage (which was not especially salty, I checked) on top for extra protein. It tasted very good, but the salt got a little overwhelming after the first few bites. If I make this again, I will drain and rinse the beans and perhaps use less cheese and more lemon.

  • Carlin pea chaat

    • valderaa on March 02, 2026

I made the green chutney, which was easy and delicious, and then served my RG beans and sauteed broccoli rabe with the accompaniments. I forgot to add the seasonings to the beans. I will do that next time but this was already full of flavor and texture. Will definitely make again.

  • Crispy baked halloumi, carlin pea + orange salad

    • katmagdunn on March 08, 2026

This is really nice but do make sure you season quite heavily; I used romaine since it’s all I had but some lightly roasted kale would have been ideal

  • Chipotle red kidney beans + baked feta traybake

    • alex_oz7xpq on March 28, 2026

Delicious, I added some leftover roasted tomatoes and served with avo and lime and yoghurt. Will make again

  • 'Nduja beans, mozzarella + hot honey

    • gootenbeez on May 22, 2026

This was a delicious. Had to substitute cannelli beans. I loved the bites of nduja and melted cheese. I'd add more kale next time. Maybe even make a double batch. The hot honey was a nice touch.

Rave reviews from all who ate it. The combo of flavors is outstanding. Used Rancho Gordo Flora de Junio red beans.

  • Cherry tomato, anchovy + white bean gratin

    • Alisonk on January 08, 2026

This was delicious and perfect for a cold winter evening, I used a mix of white beans that I soaked then pressure cooked the day before, the anchovies add a lovely touch of seasoning

  • Cold sesame black bean noodles

    • katmagdunn on May 28, 2026

Really good — a standard idea but the black beans do add something. Adaptable to the veg you have, I used avocado, tomatoes and broccolini
