Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Not your mama's meatloaf

    • Rinshin on December 15, 2017

After Paul prudhomme’s cajun meatloaf, this is my favorite. I have made this with their versionof bbq sauce as well my own and bottled. Works fine either way.

  • Grill-smoked salmon with chile-lime booster sauce

    • twoyolks on July 31, 2018

I really liked the smoked salmon but the spice rub was a bit too strong. The sauce would overpower any flavor of the fish so I didn't use it (even though I made it).

  • Asparagus, red pepper, & potato salad

  • Coleslaw

    • Rinshin on October 31, 2014

One of my favorite all-time American style coleslaw. I always had add a shredded apple and some dry roasted peanuts to this. Can't go wrong with this one with good tasting spicy bbq of your choice!

  • Dinosaur-style bar-b-que beans

    • Rinshin on December 15, 2017

Another recipe using the mutha sauce. Great tasting beans perfect with all bbq.

  • Honey hush corn bread

    • Rinshin on September 12, 2020

A corn forward cornbread without the cake texture or half cornmeal and flour version of Marie Calendar’s. I like all versions except too sweet and this one has some sweetness too but it is mostly coming from honey brushed on. Perfect substantial textured cornbread served with bbq.

  • Garlic & ginger green beans

    • stacey_nn0o4j on May 18, 2026

I used homemade barbecue sauce instead of Mutha Sauce. My entire family really enjoyed the recipe.

  • Garlic dill pickles

    • Feelingsamtastic on September 20, 2025

LOVED these pickles. Nice heat and garlic bite

  • Corn & potato chowder

    • Christinalego on September 20, 2020

Good. I like all the extra veggies in it, more than some reci-es.

  • Mutha sauce

    • Rinshin on December 15, 2017

I have made this bbq sauce countless times. All American bbq sauce at it’s finest. This sauce is used in different recipes in this great book. Recipe at https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/mutha-sauce-389211

  • All-purpose red rub

    • Rinshin on December 15, 2017

Very good rub. I keep this handy in the freezer.

  • Creole seasoning

    • Rinshin on December 15, 2017

Another great tasting seasoning. Handy to have on hand.
