Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Chicken and spring vegetable stew

    • redjanet on September 04, 2011

A bit bland, though easy and the tarragon added a nice touch of flavour. I used mixed frozen vegetables instead of fresh, as well as skinless chicken breasts, and it came out fine.

  • Cheesy fish grills

    • redjanet on September 04, 2011

I though the cheese and ham combination on top of white fish might be a bit weird, but it worked fairly well and made this a decent, quick and easy midweek meal.

  • Spicy prawn and chorizo rice

    • boncie on June 01, 2026

This is really good. Next time I'll put some cooked chicken in it to make a cheat's paella.

  • Beef and bean hotpot

    • Lindalib on June 14, 2012

Better than the title suggests. Used Bush vegetarian baked beans and added both Tabasco and Worcetershire sauce.

  • Plum and marzipan tarte Tatin

    • raybun on April 26, 2017

I had a kilo of plums sitting on the counter and after a week they were showing no sign of ripening and a block of marzipan in the fridge. Thanks to EYB this recipe came up, and I'm so glad it did. The plums become 'confit'ed and the caramel soaks into the fruit and crispy pastry.
