Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Tray-baked salmon with pancetta, potatoes, tomatoes and asparagus

    • Jane on May 22, 2015

A good and quick every-night dinner. 15 mins to roast sliced potatoes in the oven then 10 minutes for the salmon, asparagus and tomatoes. I didn't have any ham but it was still good without it.

  • Tasty lamb stew

    • Phil.Adams on May 31, 2014

[Pg. 70] I wasn't convinced lamb stew in under an hour would work, and plainly it didn't. Neck fillet does cook to eating quality, but is very fatty and in an hour, the fat doesn't render down. (And I'm a Jack Spratt) Probably frying it first would help - the picture suggests it has been. I continued simmering for about another hour, and it did turn our rather tasty :-) N.B. Serve with a hot crusty baguette!

  • Rosie's vegan curry (the boys never knew!)

    • BessGressingham on May 18, 2023

This is delicious, but the timings are really misleading. Preparation is quite lengthy, there are a lot of things to chop. The cooking time is longer than indicated, too, with the squash and cauliflower still hard when the dish should have been ready, they needed at least another 15 minutes. I'd certainly make it again, though, and add water, possibly about 200ml, at the same time as the squash, and then top up with more water if the dish looked too dry.

  • Mexican beef burritos with chunky guacamole

    • marie_7lgdcj on June 15, 2026

Delicious. Perfect consistency for burritos. I cooked rice to wrap into the burritos too. All the family enjoyed it.
