I love the Sunday pancakes from this book. I was not that impressed by the French toast.

Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Oatmeal-raisin muffins

Quite nice--and incredibly simple--and the buttermilk ensures they'll remain moist for at least a couple days after baking. I reduced the fat from 6 T to 4 T and added 2 T apple cider as a replacement--quite lovely. Might be nice with other (or just a bit more) dried fruit.

      Great. Omit raisins.

  • Basic sweet-roll dough

    • swegener on December 31, 2014

Note the correct yeast amount is 4 and 1/2 tsp OR two packets, not two packets OR 2 1/4 tsp. Somewhat confusing wording if you never use yeast from packets.

  • Yogurt coffee cake

  • Chocolate coffee cake

    • sgump on October 24, 2011

I enjoyed this coffee cake (though the dried apricots were well-nigh lost in the streusel--perhaps I shouldn't have diced them as finely as I did--or perhaps I should have added more than just the 3 T called for in the recipe). Even though I was careful when adding the struesel layers to make sure chocolate chips did not end up touching the sides of the Bundt pan, I still ended up with a ragged edge (upon removing the cake from the pan--due to a stuck chocolate chip). Perhaps buttering and flouring the pan would be a good idea?

  • Bacon and goat cheese omelette filling

  • Persian eggs

  • Tex-Mex cornbread pudding

Very good. Can't find it on my own bookshelf. P. 154 in Morning Food.
