Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Classic blueberry pie

    • ashallen on November 23, 2019

Very good recipe for a classic blueberry pie. [Cross-post for Annual Edition/Magazine.]

  • Cherry pie

    • ashallen on November 23, 2019

Very good cherry pie - the small quantities of allspice, almond extract, brandy, and cinnamon add really nice flavor. [Cross-post for Annual Edition/Magazine.]

  • Sweet-and-sour coleslaw

    • mfto on July 29, 2011

I accidentally used red wine vinegar rather than rice vinegar. Duh. I liked the red wine vinegar but thought the recipe was too sweet so will use less sugar next time. Matter of taste.

  • Peach pie

    • mfto on July 29, 2011

This is the recipe that I usually use for peach pie. Anytime I see chrystalized ginger as an ingredient, I feel encouraged. The problem with peach pies is the quality of the peach you use. No recipe can overcome tasteless peaches.
