      I don't know how this could possibly be called a 10 minute risotto. Cooking the orzo alone took 20 mins and then there is the prep and cooking of the vegetables before that for 10 mins. So call it a 30 minute risotto. It was nice enough as a weeknight dinner but nothing very special.

  • Chorizo, potato and parsley tortilla

      This was nice and tasty though not extraordinary either :) Only issue was I used too big a pan, I would advise to use a deep and small-ish pan to achieve a better texture, and maybe up the amount of onions and potatoes a bit.

      I tried again. Used suggested amount of potatoes, chorizo, half an onion and 3 eggs, because I wanted to use up the potatoes and chorizo and the pan I wanted to use was smaller than the recipe suggested (and since my pan last time was too large...). That was really nice, even though I did mess up the pan turning thing :) The texture and depth was much better than last time too. I must also remember to cut smaller potato slices, and not cut them lengthwise. Anyway, live and learn :)

  • Herb dressed turnips

      Made for lunch yesterday.... Subbed capers for minced gherkins and served with baguette toasts with good ham/butter... The turnips were deceptively simple to make with very little ingredients... but they were excellent .. The parsley and garlic worked their usual wonderfulness ... Really nice and tasty. Will make again and maybe try to toast the turnips a little bit more on the pan step
