Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Old-fashioned roast turkey with gravy

    • Analyze on September 03, 2015

Moist with a decent gravy. PS - Take it with a grain of salt; this was my first turkey :)

  • Roast beef tenderloin with caramelized onion and mushroom stuffing

    • Analyze on September 03, 2015

This is absolutely delicious. I've made it four times. It's a bit expensive, but full of gourmet flavor and presentation.

  • Pot-au-feu

    • Analyze on September 03, 2015

This is a good recipe, but not one that I'd make again - it's flavored and tender, but it's still boiled meat. My husband noted that he thought it was tender, but not much flavor. I guess it just depends on whether or not you like Pot-Au-Feu.

  • Mixed green salad with mustard-tarragon vinaigrette

    • Analyze on September 03, 2015

My husband and I didn't care for the flavors of this dressing. Personal taste though :)

  • Shrimp jambalaya

    • Analyze on September 03, 2015

This is a good recipe - simple and spicy - and we enjoyed it the first time. The second time I made it side by side with the Shrimp Jambalaya recipe from The America's Test Kitchen for my husband and I, parents, and five year old nephew, and everyone voted that the ATK Family Cookbook version was their favorite. So this is good, but that one is better IMO.

  • Toasted coconut sablés

    • Lottie and Doof

I fell in love even before I tried them. They seemed easy to make, could be made in advance and were full of toasted coconut.
