Baked apples with oat crumble from Huckleberry: Stories, Secrets, and Recipes from Our Kitchen (page 152) by Zoe Nathan

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Very good. Smile worthy! I like baked apples and this was a nice combination of baked apples and an apple crisp. Does take a while and involves multiple steps. Made gluten free using half a GF flour mix and half buckwheat flour. Liked the combo. Makes a lot - which is a big win!

Delicious! Another excellent recipe from this great cookbook.

This is basically an apple crisp with half apples instead of slices. That being said, it felt a little less dessert-like than a crisp, especially with some yogurt as topping, as per Nathan's suggestion.

Used the crumble to top an apple crumble (stewed apples with butter and golden caster sugar). Delicious caramel flavour. Made a triple batch and will store the extra in the freezer.

The only way this dessert can go awry is if you pick an apple unsuitable for baking. most varieties are just fine for making this dessert; pick your favorite, & don't mix them, so it all cooks evenly.
